Candella Fabrica uses brand-new 5-star high grade Paraffin 68 and new Beeswax.

We do NOT reuse old wax or melt previously used candle scraps to create candles!

WHY?

When the faithful bring gifts such as incense, lamp oil, wicks, church loaves, and wine for church services, the priest carefully selects the best of these for use. The same standard of excellence applies to candles.

Today, Candella Fabrica stands as Australia’s leading supplier of premium church candles, setting a new benchmark for quality and craftsmanship across the candle industry. Our products are meticulously designed to exceed all expectations, combining exceptional aesthetic appeal with ergonomic sizing and optimised burn performance.

Every candle we produce is crafted using superior-grade wax, advanced, yet traditional manufacturing techniques, ensuring a clean, consistent burn, refined scent profile, and long-lasting performance. Our commitment to excellence has established a new standard in candle quality, one that churches, institutions, and customers across Australia trust and rely on.

Additionally, our premium heavy-duty packaging ensures maximum protection against heat during storage and transit, especially during Australia's hot summers.

To further support churches and ensure quality up to the point of dispatch, Candella Fabrica keeps all candles air-conditioned year-round. We also offer an exceptional wholesale experience by reducing the minimum order quantity to just one carton per order, all at the lowest wholesale price.

Our high-grade wax ensures candles remain resistant to warping during storage and transit, even in Australia's hot climate. Unlike other suppliers, Candella Fabrica provides churches with affordable pricing without requiring them to order and store large quantities.

By choosing Candella Fabrica, customers save resources and space, as there’s no need to maintain cool storage for candles. A wholesale membership allows churches to order stock as needed, at the best price, without worrying about candles melting or losing their investment.

We feel truly blessed and honored to supply 5-star quality candles across Australia to funeral homes, Orthodox Churches, Catholic Churches, and the faithful. Our reputation for quality products and exceptional service is now our guarantee.

At Candella Fabrica, we don’t just meet industry standards, we redefine them.

Some may say, 'Relax... they are just candles, who cares?' But should Christians care about their quality?

In the Christian context, a candle symbolizes a worshiper offering oneself to God. It also represents the light of God, or more specifically, the light of Christ. When making offerings to God, we are reminded of the story of Cain and Abel. As the first two sons of Adam and Eve, their story in Genesis 4 highlights themes of sacrifices, offerings, jealousy, sin, and accountability.

Cain, a farmer, and Abel, a shepherd, each brought their own sacrifices to God. Abel, with an upright and loving intention, offered the best of his flock to God. In contrast, Cain, motivated by stinginess and greed, offered the cheapest of his produce, hoping to keep the best for himself.

God accepted and blessed Abel for his worthy offering but rejected Cain’s. This rejection led to Cain's jealousy, which drove him to murder his brother, resulting in his exile and curse.

Churches have a responsibility to provide the best offerings that are worthy and honorable for their faithful to present in worship and prayer. Unfortunately, many churches face limited options for premium-quality candles, as some suppliers use low-melt paraffin and recycled wax scraps to cut costs and produce cheaper candles. This practice prioritizes profit over quality, leading to a decline in candle standards over time. While the rising costs of operation for both churches and suppliers are understandable, the compromise on quality is a significant concern.

To the churches that have partnered with us—THANK YOU! You make our dream and vision possible. May our partnership continue to please the Lord, and, God willing, may your leadership inspire others to join us in elevating the quality and standard of offerings in worship. We are deeply grateful for your ongoing support and are honored to serve you in this mission.

The Science Behind Our Quality & Wax Selection

At Candella Fabrica, our commitment to excellence is grounded not only in tradition and theology—but also in material science, combustion performance, and purity standards. Every candle is engineered to deliver a clean, stable, and reverent flame, suitable for Orthodox worship.

Paraffin Wax: Precision, Performance, and Purity

Paraffin wax is the most widely used candle wax in the world—and when sourced and refined correctly, it is one of the most effective and reliable materials available.

It is:

  • A translucent, odourless, tasteless solid

  • Typically melts between 46°C and 68°C

  • Highly versatile across different candle types

Unlike beeswax, paraffin is a highly refined wax derived from petroleum, allowing for:

  • Consistent chemical composition

  • Controlled burn performance

  • Superior brightness and flame stability when using high melt Paraffin 68

When new, high-grade paraffin is used—as we insist upon—it produces exceptional results.

Problems only arise when inferior or reused wax is introduced, which we categorically reject.

Understanding Melt Points: Why It Matters

Low Melt Paraffin (<54°C)

Lower melt waxes are cheaper and commonly used—but come with significant drawbacks:

  • Burn faster, reducing candle lifespan

  • Produce more soot, especially in drafty conditions

  • Become soft and unstable in heat, leading to warping

  • Often result in messy, dripping candles

These waxes are typically used for container candles—not sacred pillar candles used in worship.

High Melt Paraffin (>62°C)

Higher melt paraffin is significantly superior:

  • Longer burn time

  • Stronger structural integrity

  • Cleaner combustion with minimal smoke

  • Greater resistance to heat distortion, especially in hot climates like Australia

This is the category where true quality begins—and where Candella Fabrica goes even further.

Why Paraffin 68°C Is the Gold Standard

At Candella Fabrica, we are an exclusive supplier to use premium 68°C high-melt paraffin—a rare and elite grade that represents the pinnacle of candle-making performance.

🔥 Superior Flame Quality

  • Produces a bright, stable, reverent flame ideal for liturgical settings

  • Optimized combustion results in minimal soot and smoke

⏳ Extended Burn Duration

  • Higher melt point = slower consumption

  • Ensures candles last significantly longer during services and prayer

🕯 Structural Excellence

  • Hard yet flexible composition

  • Resistant to warping during storage and transport, even in Australian heat

🌿 Clean & Pure Experience

  • Odourless when unlit

  • No harsh or industrial smells when extinguished

  • Maintains a clean, sacred atmosphere within the church

🎨 Aesthetic Consistency

  • Holds colour evenly without bleeding

  • Maintains a refined, uniform appearance

A Practical Advantage: Durability You Can Trust

Unlike lower-grade candles that:

  • Warp irreversibly due to storage and transit during summer

  • Snap under pressure

  • Lose their form in heat

Candella Fabrica candles made from Paraffin 68:

  • Maintain their shape under normal conditions

  • Can be gently restored if softened by heat and warp out of their original shape

  • Protect your investment with long-term usability and presentation

Why Other Suppliers Don’t Use Paraffin 68

The reality is simple: access and cost.

This premium-grade wax:

  • Requires large-volume import commitments

  • Is rare and difficult to source in Australia

  • Demands higher upfront investment

Many suppliers choose cheaper alternatives to maximise margins. At Candella Fabrica, we make a different choice: We invest in the highest-quality materials because worship deserves nothing less.

Setting a New Standard in Australia & Worldwide

Before Candella Fabrica, this level of candle quality was virtually unavailable in the Australian market. Today, we are proud to lead a new standard globally—where science, craftsmanship, and Orthodox tradition converge.

Candella Fabrica: Where Science Serves the Sacred

By combining:

  • 100% new, uncompromised wax

  • Elite-grade Paraffin 68 Wax

  • Strict quality control standards

We produce candles that are not only technically superior—but spiritually worthy.

BEESWAX

Beeswax is a natural wax produced by honey bees and has many uses. It's a valuable natural resource and a quality beeswax is VERY expensive wax. Buying low to medium quantities can reach costs above $30 per kilogram! You can easily expect the price of beeswax candles to be double or more than paraffin alternatives.

WHY IS BEESWAX SO EXPENSIVE?

For honey bees to create 1 Kilogram of wax, they consume ~10kgs of honey. The process isn't instant either. Then, the labour to collect, filter & clean the wax is tedious & lengthy. Quality control is extremely difficult with no wax being exactly the same especially from region to region. The wax scents can vary due to the flowers of the region the bees feed on, if the bees were fed sugar instead of honey. And the wax colour varies depending on water sources or drought and the wax cleaning process and if stainless steel boilers are used. Not to mention, you can expect beeswax to retain a smoky scent from the smoking of the bees during the harvest of honey and wax. So producing large quantities is difficult, expensive, and the wax quality and type can be inconsistent. The demand for beeswax is also extremely high. There are different qualities and grades of beeswax, from cosmetic, general purpose, candle & industrial grades. Beeswax has been used since prehistory as the first plastic, as a lubricant and waterproofing agent, in lost wax casting of metals and glass, as a polish for wood and leather, for making candles, as an ingredient in cosmetics and as an artistic medium in encaustic painting. Premium and food grade beeswax can be edible, having similarly negligible toxicity to plant waxes, and is approved for food use in most countries and in the European Union under the E number E901.

WHAT MAKES BEESWAX GREAT?

Because beeswax is a product naturally invented and created by bees, is it a fantastic eco-friendly product and is respected and considered by many Christian faiths to be the best; a worthy and most honourable wax to be used and dedicated in ritual, worship and prayer in the form of a candle. Thanks to beeswax's high melting point of approximately 65° C (149° F), like Paraffin 68, its melting point being better than other waxes, it emits one of the brightest, most warm-toned flame. They also do not soot as much as other wax types. The drawback of beeswax is that it is a softer wax, flexible and fragile to heat and is prone to bending out of shape very easily during hot weather or heat produced by surrounding candles. It drips and stains much worse than other candles within the same melting point range. To minimise this problem, improve candle rigidity and increase it's melting temperature, suppliers will add an organic natural candle hardener called Stearic. It must be fresh, added in the correct amounts at the right temperature to create the perfect beeswax candle.

While our premium 5-star high-grade paraffin 68 candles offer significant advantages, we are confident that you will love our beeswax options if you value and seek a fully natural candle alternative.

NEW vs USED CANDLE WAX

Candella Fabrica: Pure, Uncompromised Candle Wax for Orthodox Worship

At Candella Fabrica, we uphold a standard that sets us apart globally:

We never reuse wax. Every candle we produce is crafted exclusively from brand-new, carefully selected highest grade wax that meets strict Orthodox Christian theological requirements for sacred use in worship, prayer, and offerings to God.

The Truth About “Used Wax” in the Candle Industry

In many churches, candles after every service, used candles from the sand pits are extinguished before fully burning down. These remnants are commonly collected, melted, and reused by candle suppliers. While this practice is widespread, it introduces serious concerns about purity, consistency, and reverence.

Reused wax often contains:

  • Residual ash and burnt wick fragments

  • Dust, sand, and environmental debris

  • Chemical breakdown from repeated heating cycles

Even with filtering, impurities are first melted into the wax—making true purification nearly impossible. Over time, repeated reuse leads to degraded candle quality, unpleasant odors, and a diminished worship experience.

Why Most Candle Suppliers Reuse Wax

The answer is simple: cost reduction.

Many suppliers:

  • Collect leftover wax from churches (often free or purchased cheaply from the church)

  • Melt and mix it into new batches repeatedly

  • Prioritize affordability over purity and theological integrity

The result? Candles that may:

  • Emit crayon-like or industrial odors

  • Appear unnaturally dark or heavily dyed

  • Produce harsh or unpleasant smoke when extinguished

This cycle can continue for decades, with the same wax being reused countless times—compromising both quality and sanctity.

At Candella Fabrica, we reject this practice entirely.

Our Commitment: 100% New Wax, Every Time

We believe that candles offered in Orthodox worship must reflect:

  • Purity of substance

  • Integrity of craftsmanship

  • Reverence toward God

That is why:

  • We never incorporate recycled or reclaimed wax

  • We use only virgin wax materials of the highest grade

  • Our production process aligns with Orthodox theological expectations for sacred offerings
